  Here's what to bring along.

First, you will be interviewed by the Citiguard operations manager to see if you qualify under our company policy guidelines and via the guidelines set out by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Ministry of Public Safety and Security. A criminal background will not clear the approval sytem. To apply as a Citiguard Security Officer, it is important you bring the following material to your interview. We are required to submit your completed application to the ministry, accompanied by the following documents requested for a clearance check through their system.

They include;

  Primary Identification;

• Canadian Birth Certificate and / or;   
• Canadian Citizen Card or;   
• Landed Immigration Card or;
• Valid Passport.

  Secondary Identification;

• Valid Driver's license or;
• Valid Health Card with photo.

We will take a passport size photo of you under ministry requirements. Applicants may not wear glasses, a hat or cap of any kind and may not produce a smile otherwise the application will not be accepted by the ministry. Generally your application will be approved or declined within 5 to 7 business days by the Ministry. Once you have cleared their system and have been approved you will be issued a license with a photo I.D card by the ministry, which allows you to only work as a security guard for the company of Citiguard Security Services.

Please note: In the event of termination as a security guard with Citiguard Security Services you will be required to immediately hand in your ministry issued photo I.D.card to Citiguard Security Services. Failing to do so may result in a fine and up to two years imprisonment.

A standard $40.00 ministry application fee must be paid at time of applying to the ministry for your security license.
